Camp - A week of fun and adventure

The Brain Injury Association of Missouri (BIA-MO) Donald Danforth Jr. Wilderness Camp is a week-long organized outdoor experience, held at Sunnyhill Adventures in Dittmer, Missouri for persons with a brain injury.

The need for such a camp was determined several years ago through discussions with many families coping with the changes in their lives following a brain injury of a loved one. For survivors, there is a need to rebuild their self-confidence, to begin to learn how to overcome new obstacles and create a new life for themselves. For caregivers, this Camp offers a week of respite from daily responsibilities and care for their loved one.

The BIA-MO Donald Danforth Jr. Wilderness Camp is dedicated to assisting survivors. Activities such as swimming, boating, fishing, arts & crafts, sports, games, zip lining, rocking climbing and paddle boating are adapted to the abilities of each Camper. Participation in camp offers individuals with brain injuries opportunities for fun, time with others with brain injury and relaxation.
